The incident happened today at 2.30pm at Queenstown International Airport.

The flight was delayed for 15 minutes so a 47 year-old man could be off loaded from the plane.

Air New Zealand In-Flight Service Manager Graham Schist advised Police that the passenger had become argumentative after being asked to move seats.

An officer boarded the aircraft and, at request of the Flight Captain, removed the man.

The police said the man was cooperative and they are not considering laying charges.
