Christchurch police are looking for two men who allegedly ram raided three businesses and tried to run down a police officer.
Three men and a woman targeted dairies and petrol stations during raids in New Brighton, just before 4am, police said.
Acting Senior Sergeant Jim Curry said an officer found the group at a Bower Avenue dairy in the midst of a third robbery.
"The officer was arresting two suspects at the time when two others took off in a second vehicle.
"They drove this vehicle at him, narrowly missing him, then hitting a patrol car and doing minor to moderate damage."
He said the officer then pursued the pair down New Brighton Road, but abandoned the chase due to their dangerous driving.
Mr Curry said police were looking for the two men and the grey Nissan Terrano they were driving.
A 21 year-old-man and 17-year-old woman will appear in Christchurch District Court today on charges relating to the raids..
