Traffic is moving on State Highway 1 north of Wellington and the road has been cleared following a multiple car crash this afternoon.
Police said four cars were damaged after a driver moved into the incoming lane and collided with another car on State Highway 1 north of Peka Peka, just before Te Horo.
Emergency services were called at 3.51pm.
An ambulance spokesperson said one person was taken to Palmerston North Hospital in a moderate condition while others involved were assessed by ambulance staff.
