A 32-year-old man has been shot in the stomach in Taupo.
The man taken to Rotorua Hospital in a serious condition, and a spokesperson said he was having surgery.
Police said the shooting occurred on Spa Road near the intersection of Motutahae Street about 1.20am today.
They were working to establish what happened and asking for any suspicious activity to be reported.
