A Christchurch building company has been ordered to pay nearly $60,000 for breaching employment laws.

The Employment Relations Authority found Pro-Build Canterbury Limited failed to pay three of its employees' holiday pay or public holiday entitlements.

Pro-Build stated that its employees were on individual employment agreements with a higher hourly rate to cover holiday pay.

The authority said Pro-Build breached the law by failing to keep written records of agreements, hours and wages.

Pro-Build has to pay $43,000 of holiday pay owed to the men and a $15,000 fine to the authority.
