A woman has been charged after what the Corrections Department says was an attempt to smuggle drugs, cigarettes and phones into Christchurch Men's Prison.
The police intercepted a large amount of contraband at the prison's perimeter while carrying out a search warrant today
Prison director John Roper said the methamphetamine, synthetic cannabis, cigarettes and cell phones would have had a value of more than $60,000 in prison.
A 22-year-old woman is facing multiple charges and will appear in the Christchurch District Court.
