Police have charged a second person with assault, after an attack that has left a south Auckland man fighting for his life.
Tautu Cecil, who is 19, remains in a critical condition in Middlemore Hospital with head injuries after he was beaten up at the Papakura netball courts on 31 August.
A 21-year-old has already appeared in court over the attack, charged with assault.
On Friday police charged a 20-year-old security guard with assault.
They say more serious charges may follow, as well as more arrests.
