An 11-year-old boy has died after falling while playing at his home north of Auckland.
Emergency services went to the property at Gulf Harbour about 1pm today but were unable to revive the boy.
The police said they believed his death was a tragic accident and it would be referred to the coroner.
Officers have carried out a scene examination and the events that led to the fall will be provided to the coroner.
Inspector Mark Fergus said the boy was playing like any child does, and the police were immensely saddened by what has happened.
