A woman had to be forcibly removed from the High Court in Auckland after running at the dock where a man charged with murder stood.
Dustin Lamont is charged with murdering Nathan Pukeroa in December and is due to go on trial in October this year. His interim name suppression ended today.
Security guards took Mr Lamont back to the cells while the woman swore at him and told him to remove a social media account.
During Mr Lamont's brief appearance at the High Court a man sitting in the public gallery made threats against Mr Lamont and another woman yelled obscenities as he was led from the court.
Justice Thomas said emotions were running high.
Last month police said Nathan Pukeroa, 24, was attacked outside a house on Renton Rd in the Auckland suburb of Mt Albert. His 22-year-old friend was also injured and Mr Lamont faces an additional charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Investigators also searched the property next door and were confident they had found the weapon used in the attack.
