Looking in to the future of Auckland rail

2:35 pm on 7 March 2016

A new video reveals the inside of what is expected to become Auckland's busiest underground rail station once the City Rail Link is completed.

The Auckland Transport video shows the area around and inside the Aotea Station, which will be the mid-town stop up from the current Britomart Terminus.

Preparatory work has begun at the bottom end of town for the first stage of the 3.4 kilometre line which will cost around $2.5 billion, and be completed by 2022.

The government has agreed to fund about half the cost, in a way that allows construction to continue without interruption.
