Six injured in Taupo three-car crash

11:33 am on 27 March 2016

Six people have been injured in a three-car crash in which a van rolled near Taupo.

Ambulance service St John said one person was in a serious condition after this morning's crash on Anzac Memorial Drive, while the others had moderate to minor injuries.

All were taken to Taupo Hospital.

The police said they were examining the site, and would interview the drivers and passengers when they could.

The road has re-opened.

Today's crash follows the death of a 21-year-old hit by a car while longboarding near Wellington, and two deaths in the South Island.

Seven people were also hospitalised this weekend after two cars collided near Gisborne.
