Charges laid over Auckland boot death

Nine people have been charged, including Headhunters gang members, in relation to the death of a woman who escaped from the boot of a car in March.

Jindarat Prutsiriporn, who was 50, died in Middlemore Hospital after falling from the boot of a moving car in Papatoetoe in March.

Police said she had links to Auckland's crime scene.

One hundred police staff carried out 13 search warrants in Auckland this morning as part of Operation Sisal.

Five men have been charged with manslaughter and kidnapping.

Three men and a 29-year-old woman have also been charged with kidnapping.

They will appear in the Manukau District Court tomorrow.

Police said it was possible further arrests could still be made.
