Sixty-nine people have been caught drink-driving in a blitz in the Auckland suburb of North Shore at the weekend.
The operation was one in a series of what police call "lockdowns" that swamp specific locations with breath-testing sites.
Police stopped almost 9,000 drivers at 16 checkpoints on Friday and Saturday night and say seven drivers who had excess breath-alcohol limits were aged under 20.
Police say the ratio of drivers over the legal limit has increased from previous operations and more drink-driving lockdowns are being planned for the area.
