A man has handed himself in to police in Christchurch after a fatal hit-and-run in the city earlier this week.
High school teacher Rochelle Margaret Roozen was killed in the suburb of Prebbleton as she cycled to work on Wednesday morning.
After police appealed for the driver to come forward a man contacted them on Friday to tell them he was driving the vehicle involved in the accident.
Police have seized a flat-deck truck, which will be forensically tested.
No charges have been laid at this stage. Police are still appealing for witnesses to the accident at the intersection of Marshs Road and Springs Road between 7am and 7.15am.
Mrs Roozen, 41, had two small children. They are being cared for by extended family.
