Boy in court on firearms charges

A boy is to appear in the Hasting Youth Court on firearms charges.
Senior Sergeant Stu Fleming says police received a call about a cyclist in the suburb of Flaxmere on Thursday morning, shooting at dogs with an air pistol.
An armed offenders squad on a routine exercise cordoned off several streets in the suburb of Flaxmere.
Teachers at the Kimiora school keep pupils inside during the alert.
