Gang member caught after week evading police

A gang member who evaded police for a week has appeared in the Hamilton District Court.
Colin Kiriona, 25, was wanted in connection with a series of violent attacks on his estranged partner in Hamilton; police described him as armed and extremely dangerous.
He was arrested by members of the Armed Offenders Squad at a rural property near Marton on Thursday.
Mr Kiriona faces 14 charges, including assault. He has been remanded in custody to reappear in court on 24 August.
