Auckland's major fan zones for the 2011 Rugby World Cup have been revealed.

Plans for Queens Wharf had already been announced and details are now out for zones in Manukau, Waitakere and the North Shore.

Rugby World Cup organisers say fan zones are important so all visitors and Aucklanders can enjoy the tournament.

Queens Wharf can host up to 20,000 people and will be open daily during the six week tournament.

The Civic Lakes venue in Albany, on the North Shore, is a new event venue for Auckland and will feature a large screen television floating on the lake.

The Pacific Events Centre will host the fan zone in Manukau and will have a Polynesian theme.

The Trust Stadium is Waitakere City's fan zone venue and will be used seven times during the tournament.
