Six hundred customers are still without power in the central North Island and the Coromandel.
Engineers have managed to restore electricity to about 1400 customers overnight, following Friday's storm.
The lines company, Powerco, says it still has a lot of work to do and is preparing to deal with any more storm damage to the network.
