Two contractors for power lines company Vector have been injured in an electrical explosion while working on an 11,000-volt underground cable west of Auckland.
The explosion happened about 1.30pm on Friday near the intersection of Hobsonville and Trig roads.
The men were taken to Auckland Hospital for treatment. One suffered minor burns to his hand, while the other has superficial burns.
Vector says crews are making sure the site is safe.
Electricity was cut to some parts of the area following the explosion, but Vector says full power has been restored to the Hobsonville area.
