Updated at 4:09 pm on 15 December 2010

A 13-year-old boy has been killed when the speeding car he was in crashed into fences in South Auckland.

The car was carrying six people aged 13 and 14 years old when the crash happened in Manurewa just after 7am on Wednesday.

Two injured teenagers who fled the scene have been found and taken to hospital.

Senior Sergeant Spencer Matthews says pair suffered head injuries, and one also had a broken arm.

Mr Matthews says one person was so seriously affected he could not focus, but was dismissive of attempts to help him.

Police are investigating whether the Subaru station wagon was stolen and are speaking to some of the car's passengers.

Serious crash investigators believe the dead teenager was driving the car.
