An Auckland man has been arrested for the robbery of a bottle store in the Far North on Christmas Eve.
A shotgun was later fired at a house in Okaihau where he was staying.
Police say several shotgun rounds were fired at the front door of the house from a vehicle.
Police are treating the shotgun incident as an attempted homicide and say it was very lucky no-one was injured or killed.
They are seeking a blue 1991 Toyota Hilux Surf and say the occupants are considered dangerous.
Members of the public are urged not to approach the vehicle.
