1:13 pm on 7 March 2011

The police in Wellington will be searching again on Monday for the weapon used to kill a 35-year-old man in the suburb of Johnsonville.

The body of Matthew John Hall, 35, was found in his house by his flatmate on 15 February.

The officer in charge of the investigation, Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton, says items of interest were located during their search of the area around Mr Hall's home at the weekend.

While he would not comment on what the items are, as they are yet to forensically examined, he says they provide a positive line of inquiry.

Bad weather hampered the search during the weekend and officers will be returning to the area on Monday
