A pilot who died after his light plane crashed into the sea off Orewa Beach near Auckland on Sunday has been named.
He was Geoffrey Logan, aged 44.
Police have referred the death to the Coroner and the Civil Aviation Authority is investigating the crash.
A police dive team and the maritime unit helped salvage the plane on Monday.
