Fatal drug lab explosion a 'warning' - police

10:16 pm on 25 March 2011

Police say the death of a man after an explosion at a suspected clandestine drug lab south of Auckland should serve as a warning to others.

The blast happened at about 6pm on Thursday at a shed on a property in Glenbrook.

Police believe the building was being used as a lab to make methamphetamine and say the incident highlights the associated risks and dangers.

Inspector Mark Benefield says another man at the property at the time of the explosion is now facing drugs charges.
