The Fire Service says people are allowed back into buildings in part of central Auckland after a ruptured gas line prompted their evacuation.
Part of Elliot Street, including the Mid City Shopping Centre, was cleared at 10.40am on Monday.
Vector says a contractor had damaged the gas line, but the leak has been isolated and the area is safe.
Vector will remain at the scene to finish the repairs.
