The Department of Conservation is suspicious about the death of five young kea near Arthur's Pass.

The department says they were found on Monday piled on a picnic table at Klondyke Corner.
Massey University is doing autopsies on the birds to determine their cause of death.
DoC is calling on anyone who may have been in the area last weekend to come forward.
