A man has been killed in an industrial accident in the Christchurch suburb of Hornby.
Emergency services were called to Trans Diesel Limited just before midday.
Police say the man, who worked for a transport company, was killed as he attempted to move machinery.
They say he became trapped between a generator and his truck and was crushed.
He was dead when emergency services arrived.
The incident is being investigated by the police and the Department of Labour.
