A man has died in hospital following a police pursuit in Opunake, in Taranaki.
Police say the driver from New Plymouth appeared to deliberately ram a parked police car with his vehicle before fleeing the area just after 7.30pm on Sunday.
Another police officer found the car after it crashed into a power pole.
