Part of State Highway 1 near the north Canterbury town of Waikuku has reopened after a fatal crash on Friday.
One person was killed and another was taken to hospital with moderate injuries after two cars collided near the Ashley River bridge.
Diversions were in place through Rangiora and Sefton while the crash scene was cleared.
