Mercury power prices to rise

Mercury Energy is raising power prices by 5.8% in April for 220,000 residential customers, mainly in the Auckland area.
The rise is blamed on increased charges imposed by Transpower, as it undertakes major upgrades of the national grid.
Mercury Energy is the retail arm of Mighty River Power.
