SH2 in Bay of Plenty reopens atter crash

Updated at 4:32 pm on 13 February 2012

Traffic is flowing freely on State Highway 2 in western Bay of Plenty after the road was blocked by a crash early on Monday morning.

Part of the road was closed after a logging truck overturned and spilt its load of logs across the highway west of Te Puke about 3.45am.

The logs damaged a power pole, cutting power to the immediate area.

Detours were put in place along Te Puke Quarry and Manoeka Roads while heavy lifting equipment was used to clear the road.
