Nearly 180 people have so far claimed that transport problems prevented them from reaching last Friday's Rugby World Cup opening ceremony on time.

They have registered with Auckland Transport, which organised train services to Eden Park that were partly disrupted on Friday.

Sixteen say they didn't reach the ground at all, while another 162 say they arrived late for the opening ceremony.

Auckland Council will consider a report on Wednesday on the transport disruption, which is expected to include ways of compensating those worst affected.
