Maori TV claims top viewer numbers

Maori Television says it was the most watched free-to-air broadcaster during the Rugby World Cup 2011 quarter-finals.

It says ratings figures show it had more viewers than TV One and TV3.

The chief executive Jim Mather, says the All Blacks' win over Argentina gained the channel an audience of 501,000.

Maori Television, TV One and TV3 all screened the match between England - France and the game between the All Blacks - Argentina.
