Rugby World Cup Minister Murray McCully has signed off a proposal for extra fan zones for the tournament's final in Auckland on Sunday.

Auckland Council can now expand capacity on Captain Cook Wharf from 10,000 to 14,000 people.

Marsden Wharf will also be opened to fans and be able to hold 4500 people.

Aotea Square will also be kitted out with three big screens for the final night.
