Samoa's lack of discipline against Japan could have further ramifications after two players were cited for foul play in their Rugby World Cup defeat at Milton Keynes.

No.8 Faifili Levave has been cited for playing the opponent without the ball during the first half.

The 29-year-old was yellow-carded for the incident in the 15th minute, the first of three Samoan players to be sent to the sin bin during the match.

Vice captain and wing Alesana Tuilagi was also cited for allegedly striking a player with the knee in just the second minute of the pool match, which Japan won 26-5.

Tuilagi's hearing is set for Tuesday afternoon local time and Levave's on Wednesday morning.

Manu Samoa captain Ofisa Treviranus was also warned by the citing commissioner for a high tackle in the 57th minute of the match but is free to play in their final Pool B match against Scotland this weekend.
