Federated Farmers says its farm open days may take on a new look next year after another good turnout throughout New Zealand.

The farmer representative group held its fourth annual event on Sunday on six farms from north of Auckland to Canterbury.

President Bruce Wills says about 5000 people attended the open days which aim to give people who live in town the chance to see how farms operate.

The federation plans to ask more rural groups to join the open days next year, he says.
