Meat Workers Union members have approved a new employment agreement which ends the industrial dispute at AFFCO.

Union members at eight North Island processing plants voted in a secret ballot to accept a deal struck by the union and AFFCO last week, after nearly three months of lockouts and strikes affecting 1200 employees.

Union general secretary Graham Cooke says 95% of voted to ratify the new employment contract.

He says while not everyone is happy with the agreement, the majority have voted to support it.

Most are back at work and production at most plants will be in full swing on Tuesday.
