Energy-efficient farming category added to award

A new energy-efficient farming category has been added to the 2013 Ballance Farm Environment Awards.
The Farm Environment Trust, which administers the awards, says an energy award has been needed for some time.
The Meridian Energy Excellence Award is aimed at driving excellence in using on-farm opportunities to generate energy and maximise its efficiency.
Entries for the awards opened on 1 August and entry forms are available from www.nzfeatrust.org.nz
