The Westland Milk Products dairy co-operative says despite a cold, wet spring on the West Coast, its suppliers there and in Canterbury are setting new milk production records.
They have reached a peak milk production of 3.2 million litres, edging ahead of last season by 3% so far.
Chief executive Rod Quin says peak milk production is now falling in Canterbury but good volumes are still coming in from the West Coast, resulting in record amounts of dairy products being produced on a weekly basis.
