Rural residents in the Wanganui area are being asked to help identify the region's worst roads, as part of a council strategy to improve them.
Rural Community Board chair Andy Collins says although the district does not have a large rural population, there are a considerable number of rural roads.
He says the idea behind the strategy is to map on computer the location of problems, such as slips or slumping, and ensure remedial work is co-ordinated rather than carried out in a piecemeal fashion.
