Ravensdown enters Queensland market

6:54 am on 27 May 2009

The Ravensdown fertiliser co-operative has confirmed it will set up an operation in eastern Australia after securing support from Queensland sugarcane growers.

It says more than 1000 farmers there have given their commitment to Ravensdown during the past two months.

The co-operative will start importing fertiliser through ports in Townsville, Mackay and Brisbane from July.

Its expansion into Queensland follows a successful move into Western Australia when it acquired a fertiliser business there in 2008.
