The Kaipara district in Northland is in a bad way. There's been no significant rain since the middle of December.
Country Life reports that ome Kaipara dairy farmers are down 11% for milk production season to date.
But Kumara growers around Dargaville are pleased they have had hot dry weather.
For the first time all their crop from last season has been sold and new season kumara should be appearing on the shelves from next week....
