Shearers from Hawke's Bay and Southland have set the first official record for shearing lambs in a four stand shed.
John Kirkpatrick and James Mack from Hawke's Bay, along with Leon Samuels and Eru Weeds from Southland, managed to shear 2556 lambs in eight hours this week, at a shed north west of Mossburn in Southland.
John Kirkpatrick who has won the Gold Shears in Masterton four times and has more than 200 titles to his name had the best tally of 650 lambs.
