Rain in Waikato barely dampened the dust this week and Northland is still pretty dry too.
Dairy farmers in the north are getting short of feed. Copuntry Life reports he majority are feeding supplements and some feed earmarked for winter is already going out.
Waikato farmers are back to the dry conditions of 10 days ago. Farms are getting through feed crops faster than planned, which could lead to drying off early.
In the Franklin district, cauliflower heads are yellow because it's so hot.
Further south in the Motueka/Nelson region, early apple picking is underway for the domestic market.
