Kiwifruit post-harvest operator Satara is to ask one group of growers to vote again on merging with kiwifruit packer EastPak.
Last week four out of five groups within Satara voted in favour of the merger.
The fifth group fell just short of the 75% support threshold required.
Those growers will vote again on 14 March.
