A dairy industry adviser says he is confident pasture will bounce back quickly as soon as it rains.
Dairy NZ's north Waikato team leader Duncan Smeaton is currently running a series of drought workshops in Waikato to help farmers cope with the drought.
He says farmers need to know they are not alone in struggling with the dry weather and feed supply budgets can help them determine what action they need to take.
But Mr Smeaton says while it is hard to remain positive in the midst of a drought, he is confident the situation will turn around very quickly once the rains arrive.
"The nutrients are all sitting there waiting to be utilised ... and the soils are warm."
