Strong winds in Hawke's Bay on Sunday night knocked over several power poles near State Highway 5 between Napier and Taupo, cutting power to farmers near Te Pohue.
Lines company Unison Networks says crews worked through the night, but power would not be restored until Monday afternoon.
Spokesperson Danny Gough says a combination of strong winds and rain made it difficult to replace the broken poles.
