Brother and sister's bull pull wins acclaim

An invention by a Morrinsville brother and sister has been recognised as one of the country's top science projects by the Royal Society.

Gavin and Kelly Wolfe devised a system to safely pull bulls out of ditches and then release while keeping your distance from the animal.

They say the system has been used successfully on their family's 220ha bull farm since Kelly, then aged 10, first came up with the idea to change the orthodox bull pull system, which depend on a single chain around the animal's neck.

Their bull pull is easily fastened, tightens around the neck automatically and is easily released from the safety of the tractor.
