Karaka yearling sale begins

12:12 pm on 1 February 2010

Selling began on Monday morning at the premier yearling sale at Karaka.

Chief auctioneer Joe Walls says more than 500 horses will pass through the ring over the next two days.

A grandson of champion sire, Zabeel, is expected to fetch top dollar at the sales.

Another tip for a top seller is a Pencarrow Stud colt by Redoute's Choice out of Grand Echezeaux, who will go on sale tomorrow.

Mr Walls says the colt, is a three quarter brother to Darci Brahma, a former leading two and three year old in New Zealand.
