Phosphate-based fertiliser price rises

8:17 am on 24 February 2010

Fertiliser co-operatives have announced price increase for the phosphate-based fertiliser DAP.

Ballance Agri-nutrients is selling the product for $921 a tonne and Ravensdown at $915 a tonne.

Both companies have blamed the increases on rising international prices which they say have pushed up the price.

Ravensdown says it anticipates being able to hold superphosphate and urea prices at current levels until June, while Ballance warns that other price increases may follow in coming months.
